This most recent news post explains the benefits of buying quality reconditioned disability aids from TPG Disable Aids compared to unknown online sources.

Buying certain items reconditioned can be a great idea for cutting costs in order to gain something that does everything a brand new product does, however buying used goods, such as disability aids, from an unknown online source can lead to trouble. We at TPG Disable Aids are strong believers in this, so read on to find out why you should always buy new or reconditioned goods from our experienced and recognised team.

When it comes to something that’s purpose is to aid with a person’s specific disability – whether it is a stair lift, scooter or grab rail, you will need to be sure that it can provide this to the best of its ability. The best way of ensuring this is to buy from a notable manufacturer, as you will know it will be of a high quality and won’t have been weakened from previous use. Here at TPG Disable Aids, we only supply products that we know can provide this high-level of build quality – for instance only sourcing our Stair Lifts from leading brands such as Stannah, Freelift and Liberator as we know they are the best.

As the world of disability aids is an ever evolving one, there are always new products with advancements being launched, however this doesn’t mean you have to buy new every time. We at TPG do sell used products and believe them to be an effective solution for those working with a tighter budget. We make sure all used products we have in stock are in full working order so you can be assured of the same reliability and usability as you would expect from something you buy brand new.

Disability aids are more important purchases than most other products, so buying new or top quality reconditioned products from our selection will go a long way towards making life easier and more manageable.

This latest article from TPG Disable Aids looks at why you may require the use of stair lifts and why you should purchase them from a specialist shop.

Buying disability aids such as stair lifts from a specialised disability aids shop such as us here TPG Disable Aids, instead of choosing a general shop that doesn’t specialise in such equipment, will benefit you in many ways and above all result in a purchase that leaves you safe in the knowledge that you will able to move up and down your stairs independently once again.

Firstly, as we specialise in all types of disability aids, we understand the troubles that someone with a disability may be going through, whether it is due to a personal injury Birmingham or age, and can therefore cater to your needs more extensively than a company without a proper knowledge of disabilities could. This care begins with the initial consultation as we draw upon our vast knowledge of stair lifts to provide you with advice on whether a stair lift would be suited to your home and which model would be best – an essential aspect of our service if you are planning to move house or have a steep or narrow staircase.

Our selection of stair lifts is also another reason to choose our specialised service as we will only stock from the best manufacturers that provide unrivalled quality – such as Stannah, Minvator, Freelift, Liberator and Meditek. We also offer stair lifts that can work in a straight or curved motion and are in both modern or traditional styles – making them suited to any home and user.

Like with all of our disability aids, comfort is another major consideration of ours as making your way up and down the stairs in the past will most likely have been a pain if you are now looking at stair lifts as a solution. All of the products are specifically designed to maximise comfort and to make life easier as you move throughout your home – so for the complete, understanding service, use TPG Disable Aids.

Regain the freedom to enjoy every area of your property by investing in a high-quality stairlift and other effective disability aids from TPG DisableAids Ltd.

The physical act of walking up and down the stairs can place undue strain on the joints and muscles in your legs, which for people with mobility problems can aggravate pain levels and cause discomfort during and after. If this is the case for you, then you may find that your ability to move freely around your home is affected as you try and avoid the task of walking up and down the stairs. If you no longer feel physically able to climb your stairs, but don’t want to move to home, then we here at TPG DisableAids Ltd have a range of disability aids including stairlifts which could provide an effective solution.

At TPG DisableAids Ltd we pride ourselves on the vast selection of disability aids which we stock; as they offer additional support to those who need it, whether this is on a temporary basis due to a personal injury Birmingham, or a long term disability. If you are looking to invest in a new stairlift to help you get up and down the stairs, then read on as we discuss the essential features which you should be looking for when buying a stairlift.

Professional Assessment

To ensure that you obtain a stairlift that suits your needs and which can be fitted into your home, a member of our team will come to your home (this is arranged beforehand) and assess your needs and your stairs to ascertain the stairlifts which would be suitable.

There is no obligation to buy, and we will leave your premises and post the quote of a new stairlift to you. This quote is valid for six months; giving you time to think the offer over without any pressure.

Level of Comfort

As all of the stairlifts available from us are reliable and durable – all you have to worry about when selecting a model is whether it is comfortable to sit in. This is an important requirement that many often forget about.

If you would like further advice or more information on the various disability aids we supply here at TPG DisableAids Ltd, then please feel free to contact us on 01432 351 666.

TPG Disable Aids offer their professional advice on how to select a high-quality bed which is perfectly designed to match your budget and requirements.

A good night’s sleep is essential for your well-being. An uncomfortable mattress combined with an impractical bed can make a restful night difficult to achieve, and for those who are confined to their beds for long periods, a high-quality, well-designed bed can make a positive difference. TPG Disable Aids are a well-established provider of the very best disability aids which are designed to help make life a little easier for our elderly and disabled clients.

We have compiled the following guide to help you understand what you should be looking for when you need to find a new bed.

Find a Leading Manufacturer

We are suppliers for Invacare, who are world leaders in the manufacture and supply of mobility and healthcare equipment. Their wide range of products can help to improve quality of life for those with disabilities, and their beds are no exception.

Find the Widest Choice

Available in a range of sizes and styles to suit every budget and requirement, these beds can help you to enjoy comfortable nights from now on. It is important to consider a number of factors when choosing from our variety of beds. For example, the height of a bed can determine how easy it is for the user or carer to access. TPG Disable Aids stock a range of beds, including double and single beds, as well as profiling beds which can be moved into a variety of positions.

Find the Best Accessories

Your new bed can be complemented by a range of affordable accessories which can all help to improve your quality of life. Back rests can help you to sit up for long periods of time to enjoy a book or cross stitch, whilst bed tables can allow you to enjoy meals or games with your family whilst confined to your bed. We can also supply pillows and mattress toppers to add the finishing touch to your new bed.

A well-designed bed can be one of the most helpful disability aids available. When you are looking to enjoy a more restful night’s sleep, look no further than TPG Disable Aids.

The bathroom can hold a variety of challenges for those with disabilities, but disability aids from TPG DisableAids can help to make life a little easier.

Here at TPG DisableAids, we provide everything to help you inside each room of your home, extending from the front room to the bathroom – where high-levels of comfort and safety are a must. We have compiled a list of some of the most useful bathroom disability aids to give you a range of ideas on how you can completely reinvent or just enhance the bathroom to make it an easier place to be.

Shower Trollies and Stretchers

We provide a wide variety of shower trollies and stretchers to aid the transfer of a patient to the bathroom where they can safely be washed, dried and clothed – and then back out of it again with ease.

Complete with head support, comfortable padding, being specifically designed to allow patients to be washed over and coming in various adjustable sizes; all of our trollies and stretchers comply with current Moving and Handling regulations.

Walk in Baths

Ideally suited to even the smallest of bathrooms, our walk in baths that include the stylish and practical ‘Reval Caleche’ give great help in assisting the user to maintain posture during the bathing process – making use of a ramped seat and foot rest with low-friction grip surfaces.

Peninsula Style High-Low Bath

Following on with products that aid the bathing process, this style of bath not only caters to the patient but also to the carer, fully utilising its electric raise and lower function to significantly reduce the risk of back-strain and injury.

Wall-Mounted Stretchers

Our wall-mounted stretchers are an extremely useful disability aid that comes with a long list of benefits. These include how neat, simple, space-saving and economical they are in restricted areas or even in the biggest of bathrooms.

Shower/Commode Chair

These products also have a wide-range of benefits and uses as the materials they are made from (including a corrosion resistant stainless steel frame) make them a perfect showering solution and can also fit both standard WC’s and Clos-o-Mat toilets.

The items listed above are just a handful of the useful disability aids we have on offer to make the bathroom a more accessible place that is easier to keep clean alongside other products such as wipe-down bathroom cladding for the walls. To find out more, take a look around the website or call our friendly team on: 01432 351 666.

The ESP has been carefully designed and extensively tested to ensure the safety of the patient and those responsible for them when the unthinkable happens.

Easy to understand instructions on the front of the bag remain visible even when the ESP has been removed from the bag.

High density 2″ thick foam base, along with head and foot pads, give extremely good protection from accidental knocks from any obstruction that may be encountered, e.g. walls, corners, doors, stairs etc..

Large panels either side, which wrap around the patient, are secured in place with 2 high strength straps and buckles giving the patient a comfortable and secure feeling. This aids in keeping them calm in a very nerve racking situation.

The slide pad is designed in such a way that the patient can be placed in the pad in either direction. There is no head or foot section to this pad. It is the same in both directions, one less thing for the rescuers to worry about.

Movement of the patient is easily achieved due to the smooth and resilient material from which the pad is constructed. Manoeuvrability is excellent as there are the same handles at both ends. With rescuers in front and back, corners, doors and stairs are easily manageable. The descent of stairs is particularly simple. With one person in front holding the handle closest to the ESP – which gives good control of the front edge – the “brake” person behind controls the speed of descent. The material and the foam pad actually help in the control of speed on the stairs which results in surprisingly little effort required by the “brake” person. The reaction of the person in the ESP went from understandable concern at the head of the stairs to complete relief on the way down. Quote “There was no bumpety bump going down and I did not slip in the pad at all. I felt very safe”
